Scholarships at St John's
The mission of St John’s College includes the commitment to providing opportunities for higher education to people who are less advantaged. By increasing the number of scholarships offered, students who could not otherwise attend St John’s will be given this life-changing opportunity. This is particularly true for groups such as rural and regional students, Indigenous students, and students from low socio-economic circumstances and low-fee Catholic schools. Raising funds for young Catholic men and women who do not have the means to come to St John’s is strongly aligned to the College’s mission.
Charlotte and Georgia Cluff
Georgia and Charlotte Cluff are identical twins who are both completing a Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Laws as Dalyell Scholars at the University. They are rural students from the small town of Dunedoo NSW, who have truly brought a spirit for building community to College life in a variety of ways. Both Georgia and Charlotte are on the Pastoral Team as Corridor Representatives in 2023 and are active members of the College Equality and Reconciliation Committees. They have been fantastic leaders in the Rosebowl Netball and Women’s intercollegiate rugby teams in 2022. They are also talented and enthusiastic members of the Palladian Dance team.
Georgia and Charlotte are the recipients of the College scholarship in 2023 and are deeply grateful to the College and donors for the opportunities this has enabled.
"We are extremely honoured to be the recipients of St John’s College Scholarships in 2023. As rural students, this has provided us with the experience of being a part of such a special community that allows us to excel in our studies and engage in extracurricular opportunities that we otherwise would not have. Words cannot express our immense gratitude for the opportunity we have to reside at St John’s College, as it has truly become a second home for us whilst completing our university studies."
