Alumni In Memoriam |
St John’s College wishes to acknowledge the recent passing of one of its beloved alumni.
Peter James Black passed away on 20 August after a long illness. His funeral was held at St Thomas More’s Catholic Church, Campbell on 31 August. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife Fran, their family and friends and the many Johnsmen who remember Peter well from his College days.
Peter came from Singleton and was a fresher at Johns in 1959. He was a ‘big personality’ who quickly made many friends at College and beyond. His nickname was ‘Slack’. Peter graduated in Medicine at the University of Sydney in 1967 and subsequently went to Canberra to practice Obstetrics.
Our thanks to Peter Helm (SJC 1961-1965) and Paddy Pidcock (SJC 1959-1962) for sharing the news with us.
